Teen and Adult Programs

For those interested in learning from the ground up, or fine tuning their skills, Stoney Creek School of Art's Teen and Adult Programs are a great place to start!

We offer classes that are held in a friendly casual atmosphere that are inviting to all artists both young and more mature. Come join the fun and learn about portraiture, landscapes, art history, drawing and painting techniques, and much more!

Most class materials are provided within the program fee, but please check the class outline for more details regarding supplies and cost.

Date & Time: Tuesdays   6-9 PM 

Option A- 1 Workshop $40

Option B- 5 Workshop Pack (you choose) $175 ($25 saving)

Option C- 10 Workshop Pack $275 ($125 saving)

Learning to draw and sketch

Students will learn about the tools and basic skills to create black and white sketches. Choose from two still life settings and complete a finished drawing.

Fathoming Flowers

Students will learn how to use basic shapes to create beautiful botanicals.  Learn about space and create custom cards, or small sketches to frame and hang.

Chalk-a-lot
Students will discover that chalk isn’t just for teachers and kids! Adults can be expressive with chalk too! Learn about the color wheel, how to mix chalks and create a finished drawing in chalk. (Subject matter: Still life)

Chalked landscape

Discover how to build a landscape and create depth through shade, color and proportions with chalk pastels. (subject: TBD)

Painted Landscapes

i)                    Paint a lighthouse landscape

ii)                   Paint a country landscape

iii)                 Paint a winter landscape

Watercolor Cards

Using watercolor pencils to create your own water marked cards.

Puzzling Portraits

    We see faces everyday but how would we break them down in a drawing? This class will give you the fundamentals of portrait techniques, tips and tricks. This subject matter doesn't have to be one to shy away from anymore.

Still Life In Paint

        Through dynamic lighting students will learn and create depth th rough shade, colour and composition. Students will also learn colour wheel theory as well as tool techniques.
